All changes are be released under the GNU General Public Lisence, version two, or any later version. Why should you care?
This means that:
- First off, anyone can use your changes.
- Anyone can improve on or modify your changes. This is the fundamental wiki idea.
- Anyone may distribute your changes
- Any future changes must stay under these conditions. Thus, no one can take your work and hold it for ransom by selling it back to you, without letting you have these rights. People may sell it back to you (this is not prevented), but... since you can give it away again, you have lost nothing. This is good, because the cost will be the distribution cost. In our world, that cost is zero.
