Getting Around the Margins Bug

There is a bug in the current version of teTeX that prevents margins from (usually) working properly. That meanse that the fullpage and geometry packages don't work the way you want. Instead, do

\usepackage{anysize}

\marginsize{1in}{1in}{1in}{1in}

Type 1 Computer Modern fonts

By default, "it" (dvips, mainly) tries to use bitmapped (Type 3) fonts. This is annoying and not ideal.

Put this in your .dvipsrc file, in your home directory:

p +bsr.map
p +bakomaextra.map
% p +bsr-interpolated.map % this or what is above... not sure which is better

Theoretically, you could put in in /etc/texmf/dvips/config.???, and or use dvipdf -Ppdf, but the latter doesn't work. It's annoying that doing this simple task is so incredibly frustrating and took me a long time, and that I found the answer in only one place (first link below)!
